General procedure: A mixture of tosylhydrazone 1 (1 mmol), thiol 2 (1.5 mmol, 1.5 equiv), K2CO3 (2.5 mmol, 2.5 equiv) in toluene (4.0 mL) was stirred at 100 C for 24h under Argon. After completion of the reaction as indicated by TLC, the mixture was cooled to room temperature. After adding CH2Cl2 (10 mL), the organic phase was washed with saturated NaHCO3, brine and dried with Na2SO4, and concentrated under reduced vacuum.
