Traditionally, the fate of pesticides applied to turf has been measured by a 120-day dissipation study to satisfy the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) data requirements. The focus of these studies has been to measure the rate of degradation of the active ingredient and its degradates as well as to assess the potential for leaching of each of these compounds into the soil. Historically, all grass clippings were left on the plot to recycle the residues. Recently, concern has also been raised about the loss of residues from the treated area via removal of the grass clippings during the mowing process. The fate of cyazofamid, a cyanoimidazole fungicide, used for Pythium control in turf was investigated with and without removal of clippings at sites in North Carolina and Virginia. Comparison of loss of cyazofamid by clipping removal to other mechanisms of dissipation indicates that for a pesticide such as cyazofamid, which has very short foliar and soil half-lives and which does not leach, the loss due to removal in the clippings is minimal (0.7-2.2%). Even with application rates of 1 lb a.i./A, dissipation of cyazofamid from turf was rapid (half-lives of 18 to 19 days). There was very little movement of either cyazofamid or its degradates into the soil. By 120 days after the last of three applications, 94-98.8% of the applied cyazofamid had degraded (primarily in the form of bound residues).

A series of N-heterocyclic carboxylate-stabilized N-heterocyclic carbene palladium complexes has been synthesized and fully characterized. The solid-state structures indicate that each of the palladium centers is coordinated by an N-heterocyclic carbene, a chloride and a bidentate N,O-donor N-heterocyclic carboxylate ligand. In this work, ionic liquid is used to assist in fast synthesizing CDs with an ultrahigh photoluminescent quantum yield (98.5%) by heating at a low temperature (≤100°C) and at atm. pressure. In addition, through this approach, tunable multicolor emissive CDs can be successfully achieved and used for preparing high-performance white light-emitting diodes. Theor. computation proves that the activity of synthesis reaction can be significantly enhanced by ionic liquids D. functional theory calculation reveals that the size and graphite nitrogen ratios of CDs have an effect on bandgap reduction, resulting in a red shift of the emission, which is in good agreement with the exptl. results. This simple and promising approach for fast synthesis of tunable emissive CDs using ionic liquid affords the facilitation of CDs-based luminescent materials for fast manufacturing of functional devices.

The average recoveries were ranged from 89.7% to 104.6%. The limit of detection were 1.40, 0.39, 1.60, 1.10, 0.74, 0.04 and 0.16 mg·L-1, resp. The method was sensitive, accurate and reproducible. It could be used for the detection of residual solvents in esomeprazole sodium.
